Bernard and Frances Dallasvuyaoma artistically collaborate making jewelry with each other and sign with co-joined Ds and the word Sterling.

Hopi Pueblo artists Bernard and Frances Dallasvuyaoma made this pendant or necklace composed of a single beautiful New Lander turquoise gemstone, not to be confused with Lander Blue turquoise.  The pendant is essentially the New Lander gemstone wrapped in a silver bezel. New Lander is a beautiful hard material that takes a very good polish and comes in a range of colors. New Lander forms in the same areas of turquoise in Nevada and is part of the turquoise mineral family.

Bernard Dallasvuyaoma (b.1950) is of Hopi and Pima tribes and his wife, Frances Dallasvuyaoma is of the Hopi Pueblo tribe.  Bernard is a nephew of Charles Loloma who was his teacher. They artistically collaborate making jewelry with each other and sign with co-joined Ds and the word Sterling.

Bernard Dallasvuyaoma also was Education Director for the Hopi Tribe and assisted in getting funding from the BIA to build Hopi High School.  Additionally, he boasts the titles of Education Director, Hopi Tribe; Education Curator, Museum of Indian Arts & Culture, Santa Fe; Teacher, Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute, Albuquerque; and Special Education Teacher, Albuquerque Public Schools.

Frances Dallasvuyaoma is an attorney at law specializing in Hopi civil rights.  She attended the University of New Mexico and received her MBA at the Alfred B. Sloan MBA Program.

The exhibitions of this husband-wife team are too numerous to post here as are the collections of their works.  They have traveled the world in demonstrating and exhibiting their art. They also return regularly to their homes in Hopi where they share the best of their worldly experiences in keeping with the teachings of their elders.
