Although turquoise was the favored stone for use in Navajo jewelry, chalcedony in the form of jasper or agate was also used. Agate is the more translucent of the stones, while jasper is opaque.
This olive green stone has been shaped and set in a ring that curves to fit the finger. A twisted wire surrounds the stone and there are three silver drops on each side.
