Striking and sleek, this sterling silver bracelet was formed by skillful hands. Diné artist Gibson Gene is known for his overlay and chip inlay work in jewelry.
The bracelet features three parallel lines that run horizontally from cuff edge to edge. They are briefly interrupted by a heavily etched bear with a sunface nested inside of it. Just inside of the etched bear’s body a shining crown of silver surrounds the sunface, whose head is split down the middle representing the eternal balance between sunrise and sunset.
This bear and sunface element is slightly raised from the rest of the cuff, adding touchable visual interest. Simple and to the point in design, this cuff is alluring and wearable.
