This style round cluster pin is one favored by both Navajo and Pueblo women, particularly at Zuni Pueblo. It is sometimes difficult to tell if one was made by a Navajo or Pueblo smith.  The large number of small turquoise cabs would tend to make one believe that this was made at Zuni Pueblo, as Zuni lapidary artists are among the finest with that style.

Old photographs of Navajo and Pueblo women clearly illustrate their preference for cluster jewelry—pins such as this, bracelets with large clusters, and small cluster pins as blouse adornments.

Condition: this Zuni Pueblo Silver and Turquoise Cluster Jewelry Pin is in excellent condition.

Provenance: From the collection of a client from Maryland
