Elegant simplicity is the word that comes to mind when looking at this ring. An unknown Diné artist placed a lovely, square spiderweb turquoise gemstone in a straight-edged bezel and set it on a shank that was cut into triangular and diamond shapes. The beauty of the stone is only accentuated by the classic setting. The ring dates from the mid-20th Century and is unsigned.

Note: when we say Diné, as opposed to Navaho or Navajo, we are referring to the people and not the government.  Since 1969, their government refers to itself as the Navajo Nation

Condition: this Navajo Sterling Silver and Turquoise Ring with Square Stone and Cut Out Shank is in excellent condition. The stone is intact.

Provenance: from a large Colorado Southwest Indian Jewelry collection.
