Artist Unknown

There is slight animation to this Tesuque Pueblo Rain God Figurine.  His head is slightly tilted and turned to the left, he is leaning back just lightly,  and his pot is slightly tilting forward .  It appears that there previously was red paint on the face and body but the remnants are so faint as to be barely visible. He wears a comb-forward hair that covers his forehead, has slit eyes, a prominent nose and an open mouth.  Both hands are underneath the jar.  Other than the loss of paint, there is no damage to the figurine.  It appears to be from a date of 1890.

Condition: very good condition

Provenance: from a family in Albuquerque
