Dickie and Amy Quandelacy were a husband-and-wife team who worked together in the early 1970s. Dickie learned to make jewelry from his mother, Ellen Quandelacy; and he, in turn, taught Amy, his wife at the time.  While the two no longer work together, both Dickie and Amy continue to use the design.

This ring was made when the couple was still working together. When they worked together, Dickie typically did the silverwork, while Amy did the stonework. Their work was marked with D. & A. Q. The ring has what is referred to as the “hummingbird design.” The artists carefully cut and set pieces of turquoise into silver channels. This ring is signed with the hallmark of D & A Q.

Condition: The Zuni Hummingbird Design Men's Ring is in good condition. There is a dark patina that comes from decades of wear.

Provenance: From an extensive Southwest Indian Jewelry collection in Colorado
