Zuni Pueblo artists are known for their exquisite lapidary work. They use small pieces of stone like painters use paint to create lifelike images. Zuni artist Deanna Qualo created these cowgirl boots complete with tiny sterling silver spurs. She precisely cut and shaped pieces of turquoise, jet and mother of pearl and set the pieces into silver channels. The stonework on this little pair of earrings is extremely well done. They are post earrings. The back of one earring is engraved “Qualo.”
Condition: The Zuni Inlay Cowgirl Boot Earrings are in excellent condition.
Provenance: The earrings are from the Southwest Indian Jewelry collection of a gentleman in Colorado.
