This vintage Zuni Pueblo snake eye turquoise row bracelet consists of two rows of 12 small pieces of turquoise, each one individually cut, shaped, and set precisely into a miniature bezel. Time and wear have altered the color of the turquoise, giving each small stone its own unique color. Each row is framed by a series of small silver drops. The split shank is stamped with delicate stampwork.
Known for their lapidary skills, Zuni artisans create masterpieces using small pieces of cut and shaped stone and shell. Zuni artists have been making jewelry in the petit point style since the beginning of the twentieth century. This one dates from the mid-twentieth century. It’s unsigned.
Condition: excellent condition.
