Denny Gutierrez, Santa Clara Pueblo Potter

Santa Clara Pueblo artist Denny Gutierrez was a potter producing well-balanced and beautifully burnished blackware.

Denny (1942-2013) was the son of Katherine Gutierrez and had won awards at the Santa Fe Indian Market every year for a decade. Denny had been actively making carved blackware and redware, swirling melon bowls since 1960. Denny was the son of Katherine Gutierrez who taught him his pottery making skills.
