Artist signs James G. Nampeyo with his ear of corn hallmark insignia on the bottom. He was a member of the Corn Clan at Hopi Pueblo and he usually signed his name and included his hallmark corn clan symbol.

Hopi Pueblo artist James Garcia Nampeyo (1958-2019) was celebrated for his intricately designed pottery. Born into one of the most prominent pottery lineages, he was the great-grandson of Nampeyo of Hano, grandson of Fannie Polacca Nampeyo, and son of Leah Garcia Nampeyo. Active since around 1975, James mastered the art, carrying forward his family's distinguished tradition with exceptional skill. He was a member of the Corn Clan at Hopi Pueblo and he signed his name with his hallmark corn clan symbol.
