Rosa Margaret Curtis Fine Art European American Paintings Painting European American Artist signatureRosa Margaret Curtis immigrated to New Mexico as a youngster with her parents, and then she went to England and received her education at the Convent of the Cross, Boscombe, Bournemouth, and the Ursuline Convent, Greenwich, and studied art at South Kensington School, London. It is believed her family settled in Silver City, New Mexico, around 1906 but the location and date are not known for sure.

When she returned from Europe in 1916, she married and settled in Santa Fe New Mexico.  Her most favored subject was Native American, particularly the Navajo.  She exhibited her work at the Museum of New Mexico in 1935 and afterwards.  The Santa Fe New Mexican commented that her "interest has become entirely absorbed by the subject of the reservation" and its environs. Her last permanent residence was in Santa Fe.
