+ Add Artist to My Preferences
Reyes P. Nieto is a Kewa Pueblo (Santo Domingo) ceramic artist known for preserving traditional, hand-coiled Southwestern pottery methods. While not documented in standard Pueblo pottery reference texts, their work reflects the distinct aesthetic, material, and geometric traditions of Kewa Pueblo art.
The Nieto family boasts a well-documented lineage of accomplished Kewa potters — including Cecilia Nieto, Christine Nieto, and Josie R. Nieto-suggesting Reyes likely belonged to or learned alongside this respected ceramic dynasty. Today, pieces signed by Reyes P. Nieto stand as notable additions to the historical record of Kewa Pueblo pottery.
