Nyla is the Great-granddaughter of Annie Healing Nampeyo; granddaughter of Rachel Namingha Nampeyo; daughter of Priscilla Namingha; sister of Bonnie Chapella Nampeyo, Finkle Sahmie, Rachel Sahmie, Randy Sahmie, Jean Sahme, Andrew Louie Sahmie, and Foster Sahmie.
