Frances James, Diné of the Navajo Nation Jeweler

Artist hallmark of Frances James, Diné of the Navajo Nation JewelerThis pair of silver and coral earrings have a stamped FJ hallmark, which we have determined belong to Francis James, a Diné artisan who collaborates with his wife Della James. They have been active jewelers since 1970. The earrings are fitted with posts for pierced ears.  If you look closely at the center stones, they look like hearts.

Francis and Della James were published in Arizona Highways January 1971 issue. Theda Bassman had their work in her Navajo jewelry book in 1996.


Condition: very good condition

Provenance: these Diné Silver and Coral Earrings by Frances James are from the collection of a client from Santa Fe
