The Diné Sterling Silver Oval Stamped Tray has an elegant and formal appeal with designs that enhance but do not detract from each other.  The bottom oval of the tray sits without added legs. The rim around the oval base is raised at a 30 degree rise from the base.

The design on the base is a four-petal leaf arrangement with two outlined with fine lines within the leaves and the other two have an outline of triangles on the exteriors.  There are three rings of design on the raised outer band. The first is a series of new moons each with parallel rays. Three of these elements were stamped with a different stamp than the others.  The next band of design consists of a chain of arched lines over slanted parallel lines on the lower side and triangles on the upper edge. The final row is comprised of triangles with sawtooth edges.

This elegant silver tray was made by a Diné silversmith but it is not signed with his or her name.  Obviously, the artisan is very talented as the tray was exquisitely executed.
