Turquoise Mountain turquoise comes from the Cerbat Mountains in Mohave County, AZ. It is part of the Kingman mining operation and was one of the two main turquoise deposits along with Ithaca Peak in the Kingman area. This area was mined in the 1960s and closed in the 1970s.  Turquoise Mountain turquoise is a beautiful light-to-high blue with golden brown webbed matrix.

Fashioned in the traditional Diné manner in which artists allow the natural beauty of an unadorned cabochon of  turquoise to be the inspiration for a piece of jewelry, Diné artisan Herman Vandever set nineteen high-grade Turquoise Mountain stones in sleek straight-edge bezels and then connected them with handmade links. The stones taper in size,  giving the necklace a sleek, elegant look. The piece is engraved with the artist’s signature. This is a classic piece of Diné jewelry and would be a great addition to any collection.

Condition: The Turquoise Mountain Nineteen Stone Necklace is in like-new condition.

Provenance: From an Albuquerque, New Mexico collector.
