This is a stunning sixteen-piece black Nacimiento set crafted by Paul and Dorothy Gutierrez in 1980. This nativity scene, steeped in traditional Pueblo artistry, features the Holy Family surrounded by an elaborate array of figures. Alongside Mary, Joseph, and the infant Jesus, the scene includes spectators, wise men, animals, and angels, creating a complete, reverent tableau. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted with a blend of highly polished surfaces and matte finishes, giving the set a striking visual contrast. The wise men present unique, culturally resonant gifts, including moccasins, corn, and pottery, symbolizing Indigenous offerings.
