The Badger Katsina is a healing Katsina. Prayers for the growth of healing herbs are given to him, and he then provides the herbal medicine. As all Katsinas do, he serves as a messenger for rain. He dances in the summer day dances.
The Badger wears a case mask with a snout. He has feathers for ears. He wears a bandolier across his chest fashioned from leather with shells attached, and a traditional Hopi kilt and a wide Hopi embroidered belt that drapes down his right side. Traditional moccasins complete the clothing. This is a mid-20th-century Katsina Doll.
Condition: Very good condition, repaired left foot
