 This buckle is stamped on the back with the name Lomawywesa, the Hopi name of Michael Kabotie.This buckle is stamped on the back with the name Lomawywesa, the Hopi name of Michael Kabotie. It is a buckle of excellent craftsmanship.  The design is quite complicated and interesting, almost a representation of stylized birds from prehistoric Hopi pottery.  

 

Condition:  very good condition with minor scratches on face which could be buffed out.

Provenance: this Hopi Overlay Belt Buckle Signed Lomawyursa is from the estate of a collection of 40 belt buckles amassed by a client from Oregon
