This Navajo wide leather belt with nine conchos is versatile and splendidly utilitarian.  It is always a joy when one can wear a work of art!

Each concho is similarly machine stamped silver.  Shell-shaped and mesmerizing, the concho edges are a wavy line of silver with half-moons alternating with small circles.  Inside the border, a sun-like stamping features arms reaching out around a central large circle.  This central area houses three egg-shaped pieces of turquoise nestled into saw-tooth bezels.  The turquoise stones selected for this belt range from minty-smooth green to saturated sky-blues.

The construction of this belt is very unique.  Each concho has a hand-made staple shaped arm of sterling silver soldered to its back.  This arm fits perfectly in similarly sized slices in the large front leather belt face.  On the back side a smaller piece of leather, the same width as the concho arms, is threaded through each concho, holding each fastidiously in place.  A simple and practical design, it makes this belt easy to wear.

Condition: this nine concho belt is in good condition.

Provenance: this Wide Leather Belt with Nine Silver and Turquoise Conchos is from an estate in eastern Washington.
