This Diné Silver and Turquoise Rectangular Foundation Ring consists of a single deep blue turquoise gemstone that floats beautifully on a silver platform that is surrounded by silver drops. The gemstone’s bezel is silver and wrapped with twisted silver wire.  The platform is mounted on a solid silver band that splits to three wires at the support point.  There is no indication of the maker.  The Navajo ring appears to date to the mid-twentieth century.

Note: when we say Diné, as opposed to Navaho or Navajo, we are referring to the people and not the government.  Since 1969, their government refers to itself as the Navajo Nation.

Condition: very good condition.

Provenance: this Diné Silver and Turquoise Rectangular Foundation Ring is from a private collection
