This beautifully-made and abstractly-decorated prehistoric bowl has not been identified as to the tribe of origin but that does not hinder it attractiveness. The design consists of black triangles and parallel black lines intersecting and crossing each other. This design is applied to approximately half of a wall surface and repeated on the opposite wall surface. The center strip of the interior bowl is left without decoration. Quite an abstract design by a prehistoric potter. They were much more creative artistically than one would normally think, especially on a bowl for use in daily functions.
Condition: excellent structurally with a chip on one section of the rim.
Provenance: this Prehistoric Black-on-red Deep Pottery Bowl is from the estate of Katherine Rust of Albuquerque, New Mexico
