This twelve-piece Nacimiento set by Stella Teller from Isleta Pueblo is a beautifully crafted reflection of Pueblo life, rendered in polychrome shades of gray, tan, and white. Each figure is meticulously slip-painted and polished, achieving a soft, earthy finish that enhances the scene's warmth and intimacy. The Holy Family is surrounded by animals emblematic of everyday Pueblo life, including a lamb, pig, cow, sheep, ram, and donkey, each depicted with lifelike details that lend a sense of familiarity and charm. The three wise men, offering gifts of moccasins, a blanket, and heart-shaped turquoise, add a touch of reverence, symbolizing respect and blessings.
