Crafted around 1980, this Zia Pueblo polychrome stew bowl whispers tales of community and tradition. Fashioned through the ancient hand-coiled method, its form is enveloped in a rich, earthy red slip, the very essence of Zia pottery. Bold geometric designs, painted with a confident hand in the warm hues of dark brown, sunbaked sienna, and pure white, dance across its surface, echoing the timeless motifs of Zia Pueblo artistry.

More than just a vessel, this small bowl offers a tangible connection to Pueblo life, undoubtedly gracing tables during vibrant feast days. Its banded design speaks the visual language of classic Zia pottery. A delicate inscription, Julia Pacheco, lightly graces the bottom - a poignant mark of ownership, a whisper of an individual claiming their piece within communal gatherings, adding a layer of personal history to this cultural example.
