Lucy Year Flower Tafoya, Santa Clara Pueblo Potter

From Pojoaque and Santa Clara Pueblos, Lucy Year Flower consistently produced exquisite blackware pottery. Her design execution was exceptional. Her signature style is the bamboo-like matte background design. Year Flower was an extraordinary artisan and very precise in execution of her work.

Lucy Year Flower (1935-2012) married into the Tafoya family. She married Joe Tafoya who was brother to Joseph Lonewolf and Grace Medicine Flower, the three of whom were the children of Camilio Tafoya and Agapita Silva Tafoya.
