Jonathan Batkin retired in 2020 as director of the Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian, Santa Fe, New Mexico. For his distinguished 30 years of service, the Board of Trustees named him "Director Emeritus," the only time in the institution's 83-year history that it has done so.  - First American Art Magazine June 23, 2020
