This belt buckle and matching bolo tie were made by Zuni Pueblo artist Gilbert Calavasa (b.1967-) with a design he says is his favorite. The main features of the designs are a heartline bear and a Sun face, executed in channel inlay style overlaid on chip turquoise inlay. The buckle design is outlined with a black jet frame which is then outlined in a brown frame. The design picture is set into a thick silver backing. The bolo design is basically the same as that of the buckle.
