This very large Hopi Polychrome Jar with variations of the Eagle Tail design is a stunning example of Sikyatki Revival pottery. The jar's shape is quite distinctive, featuring a bulbous body and a short neck that immediately draws attention. The intricate design extends from the neck to nearly the bottom of the jar, showcasing various iterations of the eagle tail motif.

Despite being categorized as a polychrome jar, this piece was painted with a single-color pigment applied in diverse techniques, ranging from stippling to brushed dashed marks. This innovative use of a single pigment enhances the jar's visual complexity and allows the subtle fire clouds to stand out in a unique and captivating manner.

The jar is in good condition, with some wear on the bottom consistent with its age, indicating it has been well-preserved over time. The careful craftsmanship and artistic techniques displayed in this jar make it a remarkable specimen of Hopi pottery, reflecting the rich cultural heritage and artistic traditions of the Sikyatki Revival period.
