This silver overlay pendant by Hopi Pueblo artist Larry Pooyouma is suspended from its top corners by a handmade silver chain with a silver clasp. The upper layer of silver was hand cut with a jeweler's saw to form the design by removing silver sections. This was then overlaid over a backing of silver that was scored with fine lines and blackened.
Artist Larry Pooyouma was from the village of Hotevilla on the Hopi Third Mesa. He is listed as having been active from 1975 to 1991, the year he died. The pendant is stamped with the Hopi Guild hallmark and the corn hallmark of the artist.
Condition: very good condition with minor scratches
