The influence of Shane R. Hendren's teachers is noticeable by his innovative use of creative, new techniques such as marriage of metals, mokume, and many forms of casting in which he sets elegant stones. In this contemporary silver cross, he artist used multiple textures to create two different sides. The cross consists of half spheres, of which one side is rounded and highly polished and the other is concave and textured. The concave side has a small cabochon of turquoise in the center. A large hook allows the pendant to hang with ease. The piece is signed on the polished side with the artist’s hallmark, an S and an R engraved within an H.
