Close up view of the turquoise cross. This is a standard Christian cross, formed of silver and covered in turquoise gemstones.  Each gemstone is set in a silver bezel that extends to the base of the foundation silver sheet.  Two silver balls separate the turquoise, and eight silver balls encircle the turquoise at the cross junction of the bars.  The chain was made from silver wire.

Each turquoise gemstone is approximately the same size, and each is domed.  What appears as a crack in the bottom turquoise gemstone is actually a matrix line.  The necklace appears to be from mid-twentieth century.

Condition: very good condition

Provenance: this Diné Silver and Turquoise Cross Necklace with a Hand Made Chain is from the collection of a gentleman from Colorado
