The central focus of this mid-century Diné bracelet is the stunning blue turquoise gemstone that is set atop an intricately stamped band. The color of this turquoise gemstone is a reminder of the reason that the Diné hold turquoise in such a high regard.  Long before new age wisdom deemed turquoise a powerful protector, the Diné valued turquoise as a reflection of the sky and the good fortune of the blessings of rain.

An unknown, but quite talented, Diné artisan created a frame of elegant stampwork and repoussé that sets off the beauty of the oval turquoise gemstone.  A length of delicate twisted wire encircles the turquoise gemstone, and three drops of silver are placed on either side.

The bracelet is unsigned, and dates to the mid twentieth century.

Condition: the bracelet is in excellent condition

Provenance: this Diné Stamped Silver Bracelet with Sky Blue Turquoise is from the collection of a resident of Colorado.
