These perfectly crafted channel inlay earrings are an excellent example of the precise work by a Zuni artist in the mid-twentieth century. Small pieces of turquoise were cut and set into silver channels and set in between small silver drops. The earrings are what is sometimes called “Dishta” style, as the famous Zuni silversmith Frank Dishta was known for this design.

Artisans from Zuni Pueblo have been known for millennia for their amazing lapidary skills. After the introduction of silver to their jewelry-making process, Zuni artisans developed new and innovative methods of setting precisely cut stones into silver—petit point and needlepoint, mosaic inlay and channel inlay.

Condition: The Zuni Pueblo Dishta Family Style Small Flower Post Earrings are in excellent condition.
