This very early 20th Century Navajo jewelry is characterized by simple chiseling and stampwork. This Diné (Navajo) ring is representative of the style made before more modern influences and markets changed the manner and look of Southwest Indian Jewelry.

The unknown artist of this ring began with a single stone—a beautiful aqua-blue piece of turquoise. It was set in a handmade bezel and then placed on a circular base that was decorated with file lines and a series of feather like stamps. The base rests on a shank that opens up into three bands close to the top of the ring. A silver drop at the top of the shank adds stability to the ring. Age and wear have only added to the allure of this ring.

Condition: The Old Sterling Silver and Turquoise Ring is in good condition, the stone is intact and the wear only adds to the beauty.

Provenance: From a collection in Colorado
