Potters of the Past: Santa Clara and San Ildefonso Pueblos

August 07, 2020 until August 29, 2020

Every year in late August, Native American art enthusiasts from around the world gather in New Mexico for the Santa Fe Indian Market.  Related annual events in the preceding weeks make for an exciting month of admiring and collecting.  Every year, we look forward to a busy season of attending these events and visiting with our clients.  This year, of course, will be different.  The markets and shows have transitioned to virtual exhibitions.  We will miss exploring the markets and catching up with our friends in person, but we are pleased to be able to participate in the festivities through our online offerings.

Adobe Gallery’s August 2020 exhibit features early contemporary and late historic works from Santa Clara and San Ildefonso Pueblos.  The exhibit includes works by Margaret Tafoya and Maria Martinez, as well as unsigned works by their predecessors and a variety of works by their many talented descendants.

If these pieces intrigue you and you wish to explore further, we encourage you to view all of the available pieces from San Ildefonso Pueblo and Santa Clara Pueblo.

The show opens on Friday, August 7.  It will continue through Saturday, August 29.  We encourage you to explore and enjoy this exhibit and our other online exhibits.  As always, we encourage you to reach out to us with any questions, comments or thoughts.  We may not see you this year, but we look forward to hearing from you.
